5:10 PM Hosts appear on stage to formally open the Miss Universe 2012 finals.
5:19 PM Announcement of Miss Universe 2012 Top 16 semi-finalists. Venezuela, Turkey, France, Peru, Russia, Mexico, Poland, Hungary, South Africa, Philippines, Croatia, Brazil, Kosovo, Australia, India and the USA. Shockingly, no Miss Puerto Rico.
5:31 PM Introduction of Judges. Two are Mexicans: singer-actor Diego Boneta and Miss Universe 2011 Ximena Navarrete. Will this favor Miss Mexico Karina Gonzalez who's one of the Top 16 semi-finalists? We'll see.
5:35 PM The very lively (lols) Miss Angola Leila Lopes comes out on stage to announce the Best in National Costume winner.
5:44 PM Top 16 semi-finalists return on stage for the very exciting Swimsuit Competition.

about the end of the world. But it's about English as a prerequisite for
Miss Univers. "As an international ambassador, do you believe that speaking English should be prerequisite to being Miss Universe?"
OMG! Is this a sign that she'll win the crown? (At the Miss USA pageant, Olivia Culpo also got the Twitter question and she won.)
Nigel Barker: "As an international ambassador, do you think that speaking English should be a prerequisite for Miss Universe? Why or why not?"
Janine's complete answer : "For me, being Miss Universe is not just about knowing how to speak a specific language. It's about being able to influence and inspire other people. If you have a heart to serve and a strong mind to show people then you can be Miss Universe."
6:41 PM Nigerian-Australian singer Timomatic performs for the Top 5 finalists befor the Miss Universe 2012 winner is announced.
7:00 PM Brazil announced as 4th Runner Up, Australia is 3rd Runner Up, Venezuela is 2nd Runner Up. Philippines is 1st Runner Up and the Miss Universe 2012 is Miss USA Olivia Culpo!!!
